We set the date!

After many a long discussion we have finally settled on a date for our wedding - Septembr 12, 2009. The wedding will be held at our good friends Bev and Ken's lake house in Waveland, IN. Because we want to be surrounded by close friends and family and not deal with the normal stresses of planning a big wedding we are making this a small but extremely fun occassion! All we need is you and some good weather! I will post some pics of our destination wedding location soon.

Jason and Patty are getting Married!

Jason and I went to dinner on our One Year Anniversary to the place where he first asked for my number. After our dinner of steak (me) and scallops (Jason) we exchanged gifts, Jason's was the better of the two! It couldn't have been sweeter, better, more romantic or meaningful. Although the restaurant was nearly empty we did get a round of applause from the only other table of diners...it was great! Dessert was served and the rest is history.

I wanted an old diamond, something with history, charm and very unique. Jason picked out an amazing ring...I can't wait to show you all in person! Although we don't know the specific history I am sure the couple that shared this ring had a very long and loving relationship (I can just feel it). Paper work says it's from the 1950's, I think it may be older.

We had a great time!

Extra Stuff

I ordered the Shark Attack at Dirty Dick's Crab House. Had some of the best scallops ever and the creamy corn grits were pretty good, too.

While in Ocracoke we stopped to see the wild ponies. We really didn't get any good glimpses of the ponies but I did get a good B&W picture of the sign. We also donated to help fund food and shelter. You can adopt a wild pony for yourself or as a gift.

One of our sunny days, this is our view from the upper deck. The sunrise each morning was beautiful.

For Adam - these guys were so gracious to take our request to play something special for us. Jason shouted out "Flight of the Concords" and they did their best Bret and Jermaine impression and did a couple riffs from 'Business Time'. It was awesome! Of the ten people in the bar that night we were the only ones who got it. ;)

Nature

Pelican at the dock where we ate lunch down in Ocracoke. Ocracoke is where Blackbeard the Pirate had a hide out and terrorized ships. He was killed near Ocracoke on the open water by Lt. Maynard of the Royal Navy.

On our last night Jason built a romantic fire on the beach.

Cold feet.

One of my best finds, a small but whole sand dollar. Unfortunately, it did not survive the trip to Indiana in one piece. :(

Just Daisy

Ocean Fishing

Jason bought a new fishing pole for his ocean fishing adventure.

His first catch was a skate. They look a lot like sting ray and have 'lips'. Some critter thought this poor guy would make a tasty meal judging by the teeth marks in his wing. We set him free to heal in the ocean.


The next catch was a puffer fish. So that no bird (nor human) would think twice about making a meal out of this guy he puffed up real big. When they were on the ground they just rolled around like little fish balls. Jason caught several of these puffer fish. Most of them got a nice shrimp meal out of the deal.

Yes, that does look like a shark.
